Bride

On the evening of March 10, 2012, after finishing dental hygiene school which destroyed my social life, my friend Todd Rodney invited me out with some friends to a show downtown Las Vegas at Beauty Bar on Fremont Street. I had been asleep most of that day and decided to finally get up and get out for once. I unimpressively threw on an Ohio State hoodie, jeans and flip flops. There were food trucks downtown that night so I saved myself to eat once I was there. I arrived at Beauty Bar, met up with my friends and was having a good time. At some point in the evening I started talking to a stranger named George. My friend Todd walked up and proceeded to tell me that George, aka Curious, was his favorite 90’s DJ. George mentioned a couple times in conversation he had a friend with him. The night went on, music got louder and then a blur happens. At some point within the next hour I met “Jimmy.” I do not remember approaching him or him approaching me. It just happened. I must say before the mysterious meeting each other I did notice him a few times. Who could not be attracted to his laugh and smile? He asked if I would like a drink, I said sure. He took me to the bar ordered me a vodka cranberry turned around and kissed me like there was no tomorrow and proceeded to tell everyone I was going to be his wife.  I looked at my friend smiled and shrugged my shoulders. My friend looked at me in pure shock because he knows as well as anyone who knows me well I do not get down like that. But when you know you just know and I wasn’t going to fight it. We mingled throughout the night until my friends wanted to bar hop. I asked him if he wanted to come too. He totally dissed me! He said he was going to stay at Beauty Bar because his friend was DJing next. As I was leaving I stopped in the restroom. It hit me all at once, the worst combination, no food with alcohol. I got sick and everything started spinning. I knelt down next to the garbage can and needless to say it wasn’t easy getting back up. I knew everything that was happening around me but my body wasn’t cooperating. I heard a girl come into restroom and say "that’s Jimmy’s wife" who ended up being his friend Lauren. Next thing I know I was being picked up and carried outside. Jimmy insisted that I come back to his hotel room so that I could get myself back together. I said no, no, no I will sleep in my car until I feel better. He told me not to be afraid that he would sleep on the floor. We went back and forth and I gave up and gave in. He carried me back to the hotel and I fell asleep immediately. I woke up to Jimmy on the right, Curious in the bed to the left. I got up to leave and Jimmy asked where I was going to so quickly. I said, ummm Church! He laughed. We started to ask each other more questions and realized we didn’t even know each other’s real names because the previous night he was calling me his wife and I was calling him L.A! It really was awkward waking up in a hotel room downtown so I told him I really had to get home. He insisted on walking me to my car. Again I was like no, no I live here I know where I’m going. He walked me to my car anyways. Thank goodness he did because I lost my parking permit and had no cash to get out of the garage. He saved me once again. After that day we talked every single day for hours and hours and I fell in love with him.

It was nothing shy of fate that we met. We were totally meant for each other.

He told me on day one that I’d be his wife and now it is becoming reality.

Groom

I got a phone call from one of my friends George asking if I can drive to Las Vegas with him for a DJ show he had to perform at. At first I said no because I didn’t like the city of Las Vegas. Then after him saying he didn’t want to go by himself, I said fine I will go. Fast forward to the night of the event that was held at the Beauty Bar on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas…now till this day I still don’t know how I and Erin met, but I remember asking her if she would like a drink. She said yes and I grabbed her by the hand took her to the bar, bought her a cranberry and vodka, gave it to her, cheers’d, pulled her in and gave her the kiss of her life, looked at her and I told her she was going to be my wife!!! As the night went on we were talking, having laughs, enjoying music and each other’s company. I remember her telling me she was going to another bar with her friends and asked if I wanted to go. I told her I couldn’t because my friend George was djing and I could not leave at that point in time. She thinks I dissed her but in all reality I didn’t. Anyhow we exchanged numbers and I told her I would text or call her. About an hour went by when my friend Lauren came to me telling me “my wife” was in the restroom sitting on the floor hugging the trash can. I told her that she had left about an hour ago. Lauren insisted that it was “my wife.” So I went to the restroom and sure enough it was her. I put her hair back and asked if she knew it was me. She just kept saying yes yes but until I actually grabbed her face she realized it was me. I picked her up from the floor and got her some water from the bar and walked her outside. I asked her where she parked and she pointed about four directions. So I let her know I had a hotel room down the street. She automatically probably thought I was some creep. Anyhow I noticed it was a little hard for her to stand and I said “look I’ll sleep on the floor, you can sleep on the bed.” We went back and forth and she finally gave in. You guys won’t believe me if I told you but I will anyways. When we got to the room I tucked her into bed and I proceeded to make a bed on the floor and she said I can sleep next to her. So I did and that was that. I slept on my side she slept on her side. We woke up the next morning laughing and we were talking and I said “uhhhh what’s your name again?” Because I was calling her my wife all night and she was calling me L.A. So we found each other on Facebook and then she said she had to leave. When I asked why she had to leave so soon she said she had to go to Church. I really laughed out loud and asked where she goes to Church. She said online. I laughed and we continued to talk and then I walked her to her car even though she didn’t want me too. Anyhow I’m glad I walked her to her car because she did not have cash and lost her parking ticket so I paid it for her. She dropped me back off to my hotel where again I gave her the kiss of her life yet again and I walked away like I was the man of the year!!! After that we talked for countless hours on the phone and I fell in love with her as the days went on.
